How our calculators work

Every calculator shows its formula on the page. Volumes are calculated from your measurements, then converted to weight using typical material densities. You can change the density, waste allowance and prices to match your supplier.

Where our prices come from

Default prices are typical U.S. ranges compiled from supplier and retailer price lists, and we show the date they were last reviewed (November 2026). Local prices vary, so treat them as a starting point and confirm with your supplier.
